Clayton and Julia’s wedding took place on a wintery day at Hidden Valley Resort, a perfect venue for them as a couple. Their day was as easygoing and laid back as they are, giving their guests a true winter experience in Muskoka. Clayton and Julia, it was a pleasure getting to know you and your families. Thank you for allowing me to capture your big day!
Shortly after Christmas I had the chance to photograph what would easily become one of my most enjoyable sessions to date. The entire Morrison family was incredibly welcoming, patient, and just fun to be around. Often, extended family sessions are written off as too tedious or complicated to organize, especially when you’re dealing with travel schedules, nap schedules, and the craziness of the holidays. Yet, despite my slight bias, they are SO important. Capturing multiple generations is always an honour, and the Morrison family was no exception. I can hardly get enough of this crew!
Last month, I met Krista and Dan for their engagement session at Krista’s family’s home, a historic farm, which is also their wedding venue. As if it could be any more perfect, this beautiful property happens to be just down the road from our own home, making us practically neighbours! I love this location for so many reasons, but most of all because I get to drive or run by it every single day. Of course, it doesn’t stop there. Krista and Dan are two of the sweetest people. Not only were we able to take some beautiful photographs around the farm, but they were also so gracious in giving me a tour of the property and farmhouse. I absolutely love everything about this session, and cannot wait for their backyard wedding this July!
When Kristen contacted me to book an anniversary session for her and her husband, Stephen, I was instantly excited. These two are the type of people that immediately after meeting them, you feel totally comfortable around, as if you’re spending time with old friends. Over the past few weeks I’ve come to know Kristen a bit more, and she is one of the sweetest, most encouraging individuals I have had the chance to work with, regardless of the capacity. Not only that, but my time with them was especially relaxed and easygoing, making it one of my favourite sessions this fall.
When Hannah approached me with the idea of a relaxed bridal session around her one year anniversary, I was elated. Once again, Hannah looked beautiful in her dress, and her sister, Jessy, put together an incredible bouquet, foraged from their dad’s backyard, for the shoot. With the soft, golden light of an early September evening and the tall grass of an open field, these elements made for the perfect session that we had both hoped for.
