Tristan and Steve are some of our closest friends, so I had been patiently waiting to photograph their sweet family basically since the day Will was born. Will (affectionately called ‘Will Bill’, around here) is likely the most laid back kiddo in our circle of friends, making my job as a photographer a total breeze. These three truly are some of my favourite people, and I can’t wait to watch their family grow and evolve over the years to come. Paton fam, we love you!
If you’ve followed my work for any amount of time, you’ve likely noticed that I always jump at the chance to photograph our closest friends and family. Capturing such fleeting seasons in life is dear to my heart, so of course there’s no question when it comes to doing just that for our people. Leah and I have been friends from childhood to adulthood to parenthood and all of the mess in between, something I try to never take for granted. Looking through these photos is the sweetest reminder of all of the years of memories we share together, both of which, I know, will be treasured for the years to come. And on a side note? These images were taken in their backyard, in all of about twenty minutes while dinner finished up on the stove. I may be biased, but let me say this – although family photographs are SO important, that does not mean they have to be complicated! The simplest moments are often the best ones, and I think these photos show just that. Zantingh family, we love you.
When Crystal contacted me to take some photos of her and her family for her son Reid’s first birthday, I jumped at the chance. Reid is one of the most laid back, easy going toddlers I know, and his parents’ personalities are no different. Crystal and James are amazing together and to Reid, which made for an easygoing session in their backyard. Of course, we couldn’t leave out their hilarious dog, Lhotse, either. Fleming fam, thank you again for inviting me to your home! I can’t wait to hear about your trip to Kauai!
Ever since meeting Meagan and Blair for the first time at their engagement session, I knew that their lakeside wedding would be nothing but incredible. When September came around and we took our first walk around the property on the morning of their wedding day, it was clear to me that this, and more, would be true. Everything about Meagan and Blair’s day was exceptional – from the location, to the weather, to the live band, to the delectable food. While not a single detail went uncared for, they both worked tirelessly to also make this a weekend truly special for every one of their guests. Meag and Blair, thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding day, and for letting us experience the magic that is Bay Lake. Congratulations again, you two!
One of my absolute favourite things in my work is photographing couples and families through different seasons of life. About a year ago, Kristen contacted me to book an anniversary session for her and husband Stephen. We immediately hit it off, and I ended up working with her on a separate project for the next six or so months to come. When Kristen told me that her and Stephen were expecting, I was elated. We gushed over pregnancy and motherhood, and what a joy it would be for them to welcome a new addition to their family that summer. Fast forward to August, and there I was in their beautiful home, meeting their newborn son, Dallas. Just typing those words here leaves me in awe. God is SO good, and sweet Dallas is a testament to that. Kristen and Stephen, you two are amazing parents. Dallas is already so blessed to have you as his mom and dad.
